Their influence stays with us throughout our lives, and honouring those connections is a simple way of acknowledging the kindness and humanity that helped shape who we are, and gave us the stability and confidence that shaped the lives we live today.
Our gentle, step-by-step process
Here's our simple three - step process
Step 1
A few details about the person and your relationship help us understand the story and the intention behind the reconnection.
Step 2
We look for the person gently and respectfully, using publicly available information and ethical search methods. We proceed in ways you’re comfortable with.
Step 3
If we find them, the researcher will send the Introductory Letter. on your behalf and notify you of the date it was posted. Any reply is entirely at their discretion.
Respect, Clarity, and no Surprises
Skilled and experienced researchers often charge a non-refundable Application Fee of around $600, followed by ongoing hourly rates for the many hours required to work through detailed archival records at the public Records Office Victoria (PROV), without a guaranteed successful outcome. No-one can, as historical records vary greatly in completeness and accuracy.
We focus on the personal side of reconnection, and to keep our services affordable and fair, we use a two-tier payment structure.
Application Fee – $60 (non-refundable).
This covers the assessment and the detailed archival research required for a possible successful outcome, with a result — either way — emailed to you in 3 to 8 weeks.
2 Success Fee – $100 (payable only when the Introductory Letter has been addressed to a person reliably identified through public records. it is entirely at the other person’s discretion to reconnect).
The mentor, coach, lecturer, or family member you’re hoping to reconnect with is worth that, and more.
Total cost for a successful search: $160.
No hidden fees, No ongoing charges, No surprises.
The researchers carry out all the work, and both the Application Fee and Success Fee are paid directly to them.
Complex Searches
If your situation requires deeper or more specialized research, the research’s will provide a Free-no-Obligation quote for the Success Fee, before any work begins. These searches may include cases involving very common names (such as John Smith), limited or incomplete information, records that go back many years, or situations involving interstate or overseas enquiries.
Begin your Reconnection Journey Gently
Your journey begins by completing and submitting the Application Form to the research team, sharing as much information as you can about the person you hope to reconnect with.
Before applying, please take a moment to read and agree to our Privacy & Terms. Only then, if you feel comfortable, you may choose to Apply.
Once your application is received by the research team, you will receive an invoice for the Application Fee directly from the researcher for the assessment, followed by an email outlining whether, and how, they can best move forward with you.
Please note that the researcher’s decision is final.
